Marc Jacobs in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign (an LGBT advocacy group) has transformed the windows of one of his New York City locations to promote marriage equality in New York. In addition to the wedding like arrangement in the window, Human Rights Campaigns have created a video series of celebrities such as Julianna Marguiles, Mark Ruffalo and KyraSedgwick, as well as Mayor Michael Bloomberg and chef Tom Colicchio speaking out for gay marriage. "The goal for Jacobs and other supporters of HRC's work is to overturn the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which prevents same-sex couples from garnering over 1,100 federal rights and benefits."
